Peshawar – In a shocking escalation of militant activity, the Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar came under attack, triggering a swift response from security forces as they moved to secure the compound and eliminate the threat.
According to initial reports, the assault began when a suicide bomber detonated explosives at the entrance gate, followed by intense gunfire from inside the facility. Security officials confirmed that three terrorists were killed during the encounter, while the entire area was immediately cordoned off to prevent further infiltration.
The attack comes against the backdrop of rising terrorism across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security installations have increasingly been targeted in recent months. A similar strike on an FC headquarters in Bannu earlier this year resulted in multiple casualties. Authorities believe militant elements with affiliations to TTP, operating under networks commonly referred to as “Fitna-al-Khawarij,” are behind the renewed surge in violence.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact motive and whether more assailants were involved. The attack has raised serious concerns over regional security, the evolving tactics of militant groups, and whether more coordinated attempts may be underway.
