LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has responded to recent observations made by former national captain Sana Mir regarding the scheduling of the Pakistan women’s cricket team, stating that all international fixtures are planned in line with the Future Tours Programme and in consultation with relevant boards.
Mir had earlier raised concerns about what she described as inconsistencies in the team’s tour calendar, suggesting that the scheduling lacked coherence and could impact performance and development. She also called for greater investment in long-term planning to ensure competitive exposure for the national side.
In its statement, the PCB clarified that every international tour is arranged after thorough coordination with the International Cricket Council and partner boards, and that efforts are ongoing to expand the women’s team’s participation in high-profile series. The board also cited its commitment to increasing match opportunities across all formats.
The response emphasized that the women’s game remains a priority, with strategic objectives focused on grassroots development, domestic competitions, and international readiness. It further acknowledged that while challenges remain, the board is actively working to address them through structured reforms and increased resource allocation.
Sana Mir, one of Pakistan’s most decorated women cricketers, has long been an advocate for greater representation and infrastructure for female athletes in the country. Her comments have reignited discussions around scheduling transparency and the long-term roadmap for women’s cricket in Pakistan.
