Pakistan’s U-16 volleyball team has made history by qualifying for the 2026 FIVB U-17 World Championship after an incredible straight-set victory over Indonesia in the quarter-finals of the Asian U-16 Volleyball Championship held in Thailand.
The national squad defeated Indonesia 3-0 with set scores of 25-23, 25-20, and 25-20. The match showcased outstanding performances by players like Junaid, Faizan, Talha, and Saran, who maintained the team’s unbeaten streak in the tournament.
Earlier in the group stage, Pakistan had already impressed by defeating South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Chinese Taipei. Their quarter-final win not only secured them a place in the semi-finals but also guaranteed their spot in the upcoming global championship.
Head coach Kafiatullah expressed pride in the team’s consistent performance, stating that the qualification marks a major milestone for volleyball in Pakistan.
Pakistan now awaits its next opponent in the semi-finals, which could be a tough match against regional powerhouses like Iran, Japan, or India.
