KARACHI — Pakistan’s U-16 volleyball team has secured a place in the semifinals of the Asian Men’s U-16 Volleyball Championship in Thailand, along with qualification for the 2026 FIVB U-17 World Championship.
In a dominant performance, Pakistan defeated Indonesia in straight sets with scores of 25-23, 25-20, and 25-20. The team recovered from an early 3-12 deficit in the first set, showcasing resilience and tactical discipline to turn the game around.
Captain Muhammad Junaid led the team with 15 points, including 10 from attack, while Faizanullah contributed 11 points. Pakistan’s strong blocking performance, totaling 14 blocks compared to Indonesia’s 3, played a critical role in the victory.
Pakistan will face Iran in their final Group F crossover match. Both teams are unbeaten and have yet to lose a set in the tournament.
With this win, Pakistan not only moves closer to the continental title but also celebrates a historic milestone by earning a spot in the next U-17 World Championship.
