LAHORE: Sources have confirmed to media that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering removing Head Coach of the national cricket team, Misbah-ul-Haq, after a dismal tour of New Zealand.
PCB will evaluate the performance of the former captain as Head Coach, and could possibly replace him with a foreign candidate. Names being considered include former England Head Coach Andy Flower and Gary Kirsten, who led India to a World Cup victory.
Pakistan cricket squad suffered a humiliating defeat in the second Test by an innings and 176 runs against the host side. The defeat was yet another disappointment in a dismal tour, with Pakistan winning just one match out of the five they played against the Kiwis.
It was the third consecutive loss for the green shirts during the past 14 months.
Misbah-ul-Haq was appointed as the head coach and chief selector after the 2019 ICC World Cup which he later left in order to focus on coaching.
