Govt to increase education development funds in budget

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has taken the decision to increase the education development funds in the budget for the next financial year.

According to the government, it has been decided to allocate Rs20.25 billion for the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) of the new budget.

In the current financial year, Rs8.5 billion were allocated for the Ministry of Education. Therefore, the increase is 140 percent, which is extraordinary. This shows the priority of the current government in the education sector. In recent months, the Ministry of Education has taken measures to bring back dropout students to schools, meet the nutritional needs of poor children, improve facilities in educational institutions, especially to address the shortage of teachers and provide them with modern equipment.
