FM underlines need to strengthen Pakistan-US ties


ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations the United States and is an ally for establishing regional peace and including Afghan peace process.

Talking with US Democrat Tahir Javed in Islamabad today (Thursday), he said the US government is expected to play its effective role in bringing peace in the region, including a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue.

He said Pakistan is focusing on geo-economic priorities and providing facilities to foreign investors including e-visa.  He offered US companies to invest in various sectors of Pakistan availing government incentives.

The Foreign Minister congratulated Tahir Javed on receiving the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz from Pakistan and appreciated his efforts to improve Pak-US relations.

Talking on the occasion the Tahir Javed said that the US government is deeply concerned about human rights violations by Indian troops in Kashmir. 

They also discussed issues of mutual interest including bilateral relations and economic diplomacy between the two countries during the meeting.
