1.5 mln ton wheat being imported through private sector: Ali Zaidi


ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi says one point five million ton wheat is being imported through private sector to meet the shortage of the commodity.

In a statement, he said artificial hike in prices of wheat and sugar is due to hoarding.

Ali Haider Zaidi said over one point two million ton wheat is stored in Sindh that has caused price hike of flour.           

He demanded that wheat stored in the province be released to stabilize flour prices.
