Islamabad – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly confirmed that Israel provided advanced military equipment to India during Operation Sindoor, a cross-border offensive carried out in May against Pakistan.
In an interview with Israeli media, Netanyahu stated that the Barak-8 surface-to-air missile systems and HARPY loitering drones supplied to India had “performed exceptionally well” during the operation. He said the cooperation reflected a “strong and growing defence partnership” between Israel and India.
The Israeli Consul General in Mumbai also defended India’s actions, terming them an “act of self-defence.”
This marks the first official acknowledgment from Tel Aviv of its direct role in supporting New Delhi’s military operations against Pakistan, further highlighting the deepening strategic ties between the two countries.
Islamabad has yet to issue an official response. However, defence analysts warn that the disclosure could fuel regional tensions and raise new security concerns in South Asia.
