ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN: In a striking blend of art and activism, Pakistani metal band Naqaabposh has released a deeply moving track titled “Qabza”, dedicated to the unwavering resistance and suffering of the people of Gaza. The song captures the anguish, courage, and resilience of a nation under siege — transforming music into a voice of defiance.
“Qabza” stands out not only for its haunting sound and emotive lyrics but also for its purpose. The band has pledged to donate all streaming revenues from the track to relief efforts in Gaza, with proceeds being directed through the Al Khidmat Foundation and other verified humanitarian channels listed on their video description.
The lyric video for “Qabza” deliberately avoids showing the band members, focusing instead on heart-wrenching visuals of the Gaza war, global pro-Palestine rallies, and the human cost of occupation. Children amid rubble, protesters waving flags, and the enduring faces of resistance bring the message home — that Gaza’s pain is shared, and its fight remembered.
Composed and written by Ammar Khaled and Hasan Tanveer, alongside bassist Adeel Tahir, the song took over a year to produce. Naqaabposh revealed that the release was timed to mark two years since the escalation of violence in Gaza — a symbolic gesture of solidarity in a world where silence, they say, “is no longer an option.”
The video’s vertical, mobile-first format is a creative decision aimed at maximizing visibility across social media platforms, where Gaza-related content often faces restrictions and limited reach. The band stated that their intent was to keep the spotlight firmly on the cause, not on themselves.
In a powerful statement, Naqaabposh said that “Qabza” is more than a song — it is a musical resistance. “We wanted to remind listeners that art can be a weapon — not of destruction, but of remembrance, unity, and truth,” they said.
Through “Qabza,” Naqaabposh has joined a growing chorus of global voices standing with Gaza — proving that even in the face of censorship and silence, music continues to echo what words sometimes cannot.
