LOS ANGELES – Pop star and actress Miley Cyrus has confirmed that she’s planning a heartfelt celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana, the Disney Channel series that launched her career in 2006. The tribute is scheduled for 2026 and is intended to honour the show’s legacy and its impact on her life and fans.
Speaking in a recent interview on SiriusXM, Cyrus described the milestone as “the beginning of all of this,” reflecting on how her time as Hannah Montana shaped her public identity. She said: “I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this.”
She acknowledged that the character of Hannah Montana, once inseparable from her real-life persona, has now become a nostalgic cornerstone in many fans’ memories. Cyrus expressed that she feels integrated into her fans’ lives through that character, and wants the tribute to pay homage to that shared journey.
Although Cyrus has not revealed specific details about the tribute, speculation among fans includes the possibility of a concert, special merchandise drops, a documentary, or even re-recorded versions of classic songs like “The Best of Both Worlds”, video evidence now permissible to perform since her recent Disney Legend recognition.
A full cast reunion appears unlikely. Notably, former co-star Emily Osment, who portrayed Cyrus’s on-screen best friend Lily, has previously declined involvement in such plans. Still, the announcement has reignited excitement among original fans as well as a new generation discovering the show’s influence.
Cyrus’s announcement follows her induction as the youngest-ever Disney Legend at the D23 Expo in 2024, where she paid tribute to her early role and dedicated the honour to her loyal fans.
