TEHRAN: Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi has officially rejected claims of a temporary ceasefire with Israel, stating that no formal agreement has been reached amid ongoing hostilities.
Araghchi clarified during a press briefing that Tehran has received no direct communication or proposal indicating a pause in military operations. He dismissed recent reports suggesting otherwise, emphasizing that Iran continues to reserve the right to respond to any foreign aggression.
Araghchi also noted that while international calls for de-escalation exist, any move toward a ceasefire would require prior dialogue and formal consent from Iran’s leadership—not unilateral announcements or assumptions.
He reiterated Tehran’s position that any peaceful solution must respect Iran’s national security concerns and align with international law, rather than serving external political agendas.
