ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has named Imad Butt as captain of the 20-member squad for the FIH Men’s Nations Cup, set to be held in Kuala Lumpur from June 15 to 21. Rana Waheed will serve as vice-captain.
The tournament, featuring eight nations including hosts Malaysia, France, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, South Africa, and Wales, offers a key opportunity for promotion to the prestigious FIH Pro League.
Goalkeepers Muneer-ur-Rehman and Abdullah Ishtiaq are part of the squad, alongside a mix of young and experienced field players. Mohibullah and Rana Waleed will travel as reserves.
The squad was announced by head coach Tahir Zaman at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium, following evaluations during national training camps. PHF officials, including President Tariq Bugti and Secretary Rana Mujahid, were present alongside Pakistan Sports Board DG Yasir Pirzada.
