ISLAMABAD – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Russian Federation, has announced an international essay competition titled “Open Dialogue: The Future of the World,” inviting Pakistani scholars, researchers and postgraduate students to showcase their ideas on a global platform.
According to HEC, the competition aims to engage Pakistan’s academic community in high-level global discourse by encouraging submissions on key themes such as Human Capital (education, youth, social wellbeing), Technology (AI, cyber security, healthcare), Environment (climate change, sustainable development), and Connectivity (trade, finance, global cooperation).
A Major Platform for Global Intellectual Exchange
Officials note that the initiative is designed to strengthen Pakistan’s academic footprint internationally while fostering collaboration with global thinkers and policymakers. Participants will have the opportunity to present forward-looking ideas that address some of the world’s most critical issues.
The competition also reflects growing educational cooperation between Pakistan and Russia, offering local researchers a rare chance to contribute to international policy discussions.
All-Expenses-Paid Visit to Moscow for Top Participants
One of the key highlights of the initiative is that the top 100 essayists will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Moscow in April 2026. During the visit, participants will engage with leading global experts, policymakers and academics, gaining international exposure and representing Pakistan’s intellectual strength.
HEC believes the programme will help Pakistani scholars build networks, develop global perspectives and elevate the country’s presence in international academic circles.
Application Details
Interested individuals can register and submit their essays at dialog.russia.ru. The submission deadline is December 26, 2025. HEC has encouraged wide participation, emphasising that such initiatives open new avenues for Pakistani youth and researchers at the global level.
