ISLAMABAD – Google has launched its advanced AI-powered “AI Mode” in Pakistan, bringing what it describes as its most powerful search experience to local users. The feature, currently available in English on both mobile and desktop platforms, allows users to ask longer, more complex questions and receive faster, smarter answers—revolutionizing how information is retrieved.
Built on a custom version of the Gemini 2.5 model, this enhanced search mode breaks down queries into subtopics using a “query fan-out” technique, enabling deeper exploration and richer, more contextual responses. Tests in Pakistan show that queries in AI Mode are already two to three times longer than traditional searches, making it especially useful for tasks such as trip planning, educational support, or detailed product comparisons. In addition to text, users can interact through voice and images, leveraging tools like Google Lens to seek answers from the visual world.
Google says that AI Mode merges its AI reasoning capabilities with real-time data sources—including the Knowledge Graph and shopping information—to deliver holistic and up-to-date responses within the Google Search interface.
