PARIS: French President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for Covid-19.
According to details, the 42-year-old underwent a coronavirus test after experiencing mild symptoms.
He has isolated himself at home for 14-days.
"The President of the Republic has been diagnosed positive for Covid-19 today. The diagnoses was made following a "test performed at the onset of the first symptoms", the statement from President House read.
France this week replaced its second national lockdown with an overnight curfew to help deal with rising coronavirus cases there.
Following the decision, people will not be allowed out of the house without an authorization form.
The country has so far reported two million Covid-19 cases in the country with more than 59,400 deaths. On Wednesday, France registered more than 17,700 new cases.
