LONDON – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that England will serve as the host nation for the next three finals of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC), solidifying its role as a central venue for red-ball cricket’s showpiece event.
The upcoming 2025 final will be staged at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground, which previously hosted the 2023 final between Australia and India. While Lord’s remains the frontrunner for future editions, alternative venues such as The Oval and Edgbaston are also under consideration for 2027 and 2029, depending on logistical and scheduling factors.
The ICC has praised England’s established infrastructure, time zone advantages, and strong cricketing heritage as reasons for the decision. The continuity in venue selection is also aimed at growing the profile of the World Test Championship, which has become a marquee event in the international Test calendar.
The final continues to be the culmination of a two-year Test cycle involving the top nine Test-playing nations, with the top two ranked teams facing off for the title.
