LAHORE, Pakistan: Popular YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, will remain in the custody of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for another four days as authorities dig deeper into allegations of promoting illegal online gambling applications.
Ducky Bhai was taken into custody on August 17 at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. The arrest followed a case registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The charges include electronic fraud, spamming, spoofing, cheating, and promoting unlicensed gambling platforms such as Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365, and B9 Game.
During Thursday’s hearing, the prosecution argued that more time is needed to review digital evidence and financial records, insisting that the YouTuber’s influence allegedly misled thousands of followers into trusting and investing in these fraudulent platforms. His legal team opposed the plea, highlighting that investigators already have his devices for forensic examination, but Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo approved the extension.
The court has scheduled the next hearing for September 1, when further updates on the investigation are expected. The case has sparked intense debate online, with supporters demanding a fair trial while critics highlight the growing misuse of digital platforms for illicit promotions in Pakistan’s expanding influencer industry.
