OREM, USA: The FBI has unveiled crucial evidence tying Tyler Robinson, 22, directly to the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, intensifying the case against the accused gunman. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that investigators recovered damning forensic links as well as chilling written threats indicating Robinson’s intent to kill.
According to Patel, DNA traces matched Robinson on a towel wrapped around the rifle used in the fatal attack and on a screwdriver discovered at the rooftop sniping location. Alongside the forensic evidence, authorities also confirmed Robinson had written a note explicitly stating his desire to target Kirk. Though the note was destroyed before police reached the scene, its contents were verified through digital forensics and witness accounts.
Adding to the mounting case, Robinson reportedly sent a text message and a Discord confession prior to his arrest, admitting responsibility for the shooting at Utah Valley University. In his message, he allegedly wrote: “It was me at UVU yesterday. I’m sorry for all of this.”
While investigators continue probing Robinson’s background, questions about his motive remain. Early indications suggest a mix of ideological hostility and personal disillusionment, with authorities closely examining possible online radicalisation. So far, Robinson has refused to cooperate fully with investigators.
The killing of Charlie Kirk has sent shockwaves through U.S. political circles, with the assassination reigniting heated debates around political violence, online extremism, and public safety. For many, the chilling combination of a written threat, DNA evidence, and a final confession leaves little doubt about Robinson’s role in the tragedy.
