CHARSSADA – Health authorities in Pakistan’s Charsadda district have reported 50 new cases of dengue fever during August 2025, prompting an immediate public health response. The District Health Department has established a dedicated dengue isolation ward at the District Headquarters Hospital to provide treatment and monitor affected patients.
Officials have identified areas including Rajar, Amirabad, and Muhammadzai as dengue hotspots. In response, local health teams have launched intensified surveillance and mosquito control operations, including fumigation and larvicide spraying in affected neighbourhoods.
A comprehensive home-to-home awareness campaign has also been initiated to educate residents about preventive measures. Authorities are urging the public to eliminate stagnant water around homes, use mosquito repellents, and seek medical attention promptly if symptoms such as high fever, headache, or joint pain appear.
Health experts warned that dengue remains a serious seasonal threat in the region, and continued community cooperation is essential to curb further spread. They emphasised that early detection and preventive practices are key to limiting outbreaks.
