Riyadh – Saudi Arabia’s senior defence leadership has lauded Pakistan’s constructive and stabilising role in the region during high-level meetings with Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, reaffirming the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.
According to official statements, the Pakistan Air Force chief held detailed discussions with top Saudi military officials, including leadership of the Royal Saudi Air Force and the Saudi Armed Forces, focusing on bilateral defence cooperation and the evolving regional security landscape.
During the meetings, Saudi defence officials commended the professionalism, operational excellence and combat readiness of the Pakistan Air Force, acknowledging Pakistan’s consistent contribution towards promoting peace and stability in the region. The Saudi side expressed strong interest in further strengthening military-to-military ties through enhanced joint training programmes, operational collaboration and exchange of expertise.
The discussions also explored cooperation in emerging and advanced domains of warfare, including multi-domain operations, encompassing cyber, space and electronic warfare capabilities. Saudi officials highlighted the importance of learning from Pakistan’s experience in these areas, particularly in the context of modern security challenges.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to its long-standing and brotherly relationship with Saudi Arabia, describing defence cooperation as a key pillar of bilateral ties. He underlined the Pakistan Air Force’s transformation into a modern, technologically advanced and multi-domain force, capable of effectively responding to both conventional and non-conventional threats.
The air chief also emphasised the importance of continued engagement through bilateral and multilateral exercises, professional exchanges and joint initiatives aimed at enhancing interoperability between the two air forces.
Defence analysts view the high-level engagements as a reflection of the deepening strategic alignment between Islamabad and Riyadh, particularly at a time when regional security dynamics are undergoing rapid change. The Saudi leadership’s appreciation of Pakistan’s role is being seen as a strong signal of trust and confidence in Pakistan’s defence institutions.
