Lahore — A local court has rejected popular YouTuber Ducky Bhai’s request to regain control of his YouTube channel and mobile phones, dealing a setback to the digital content creator as legal proceedings against him continue.
Saad Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai, had moved the court seeking superdari (temporary custody) of his YouTube channel and seized mobile devices, arguing that these were essential for his work and livelihood. However, the court declined the plea, citing the ongoing investigation and the sensitive nature of the digital evidence involved in the case.
Judicial officials maintained that returning the channel and phones at this stage could hamper the probe, especially as the matter is still under consideration by relevant authorities. The court emphasized that digital assets allegedly linked to the case must remain in official custody until legal proceedings reach a clearer stage.
Despite rejecting the main request, the court did provide partial relief by ordering the return of several personal belongings seized during earlier raids. These reportedly include items such as bank cards, identification documents, a camera and other non-digital personal effects, which were deemed unrelated to the core investigation.
Ducky Bhai is currently facing scrutiny from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) over allegations related to the promotion of illegal gambling applications on his platform — claims that have sparked widespread debate across social media and the online creator community.
During court proceedings, prosecutors raised concerns that content had continued to appear on the YouTuber’s channel, despite it being under dispute, further strengthening their argument against returning access at this time. The court appeared to side with the prosecution, opting for caution.
The case has drawn significant public attention due to Ducky Bhai’s massive online following and influence among young audiences. Legal experts note that the outcome could set an important precedent for how digital assets and social media platforms are handled in cybercrime-related cases in Pakistan.
As the proceedings continue, fans and fellow creators remain eager to see whether the YouTuber will regain access to his digital platforms — or if the legal battle will further restrict his online presence.
