ISLAMABAD – Pakistan – Pakistan and Canada have agreed to facilitate the export of Canadian canola to Pakistan, marking a major step in strengthening bilateral trade relations. The agreement comes as Canada seeks new markets for the commodity after recent challenges with previous buyers.
Officials highlighted that the deal will support Pakistan’s growing edible-oil sector, provide reliable supply chains, and enhance economic collaboration between the two countries. Both sides emphasised that the agreement reflects broader efforts to boost trade, investment, and strategic economic ties.
The partnership also coincides with ongoing discussions to establish a framework that protects and encourages foreign investment, signalling a commitment from both nations to foster secure and transparent business relations. Analysts say the canola trade deal is expected to benefit farmers, traders, and investors in both countries, while strengthening diplomatic and economic links.
