LONDON – United Kingdom: British authorities have charged a 32-year-old man with ten counts of attempted murder following a violent knife attack on a London-bound train that left several passengers injured and caused widespread panic among commuters.
Police confirmed that the suspect, who was arrested at the scene after officers boarded the train during an emergency stop, is also facing an additional attempted murder charge linked to a separate incident at another station earlier the same day.
Investigators stated that while the assault was extremely violent, it is not being treated as an act of terrorism. The victims sustained varying degrees of injuries, and several remain hospitalised in stable condition.
The attack has renewed public concern over rising incidents of knife violence across the United Kingdom, particularly on public transport. Security experts and lawmakers have called for stricter screening measures, increased surveillance, and improved passenger protection protocols.
Police officials have assured the public that the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may follow as evidence continues to emerge.
