WANA – Pakistan – Security forces confirmed that all terrorists involved in the deadly attack on a cadet college in Wana have been successfully neutralised following a targeted operation. The assault, which claimed the lives of several cadets and triggered a swift response, culminated in a coordinated mission across rugged terrain in South Waziristan.
Officials reported that the clearance operation included air and ground forces working in conjunction. Recovered items from the site included explosives, weapons and communications equipment, further substantiating the militants’ intent to inflict mass casualties.
The militant group responsible for the attack remains unidentified, but intelligence suggests it received logistical support from a neighbouring region. Analysts view the successful operation as a significant restoration of state control in previously volatile territory.
Families of the fallen cadets expressed a mixture of grief and relief, acknowledging the sacrifices made while commending the swift response. The provincial government announced additional support measures for survivors and the college community, including expanded counselling services and enhanced protective infrastructure.
