ISLAMABAD/BEIJING – Pakistan and China have once again reaffirmed their unwavering “iron-clad” friendship during a series of high-level engagements in Beijing, marking another chapter in their all-weather strategic partnership.
Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir held meetings with top Chinese leadership, including Vice President Han Zheng, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and Central Military Commission Vice Chairman General Zhang Youxia. The talks focused on deepening military cooperation, regional security, and expanding the next phase of CPEC under Pakistan’s “5Es” development framework.
Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong hailed the 74-year milestone of bilateral ties, calling China and Pakistan “iron brothers” and vowing stronger collaboration in technology, agriculture, energy, and infrastructure.
In Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari echoed the sentiment in official messages, describing China as Pakistan’s “most trusted friend” and a “cornerstone of our foreign policy.”
Analysts say the reaffirmation signals a united front amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in South Asia and beyond—cementing a future of deeper defence, economic and diplomatic alignment.
