BALOCHISTAN – A tragic incident occurred in the Kalat district of Balochistan where three members of the renowned Sabri Qawwal party were shot dead, including their bass guitarist. The victims were reportedly returning from a performance when unidentified gunmen opened fire on their vehicle near the Surab area.
Local authorities confirmed the identities of the deceased as Ustad Wajid Ali, his son Zahir Ali, and their colleague Zeeshan Ali, who was the group’s bass guitarist. All three were part of the well-known musical lineage associated with the late Amjad Sabri.
Police launched an investigation into the targeted killing, and security has been tightened in the area. While no group has yet claimed responsibility, officials suspect sectarian or ethnically motivated violence may be involved.
