KARACHI – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally approved the use of Karachi’s National Stadium as a host venue for the upcoming Veterans T20 World Cup, signifying a major step in Pakistan’s preparations for the international event.
The decision comes after extensive renovation work was carried out at the stadium, including upgrades to seating arrangements, installation of modern LED floodlights, advanced digital scoreboards, and improvements to player facilities. The pavilion has also been modernised to meet international standards, and additional enhancements have been made to hospitality boxes and dressing rooms.
The redevelopment project, completed in just four months, was part of the PCB’s broader strategy to revitalise cricket infrastructure across the country in anticipation of major global tournaments. Officials have confirmed that the stadium now meets all necessary standards to host international matches.
The revamped venue was previously inaugurated in February during a high-profile ceremony attended by cricket officials and government representatives. The stadium’s readiness has now been officially verified by the board ahead of the Veterans T20 World Cup, which is expected to draw considerable attention from fans across the country.
Alongside Karachi, stadiums in Lahore and Rawalpindi are also being prepared to host matches during the tournament. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi praised the efforts of all departments involved and expressed optimism about Pakistan’s capability to successfully host the event.
Tournament schedules and ticketing details are expected to be released in the coming days, as final preparations near completion.
