ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly criticised the recent U.S. and Israeli airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, warning that such actions could destabilise regional security and fuel a dangerous spiral of conflict.
In a pointed statement, Bilawal called the strikes “blatant violations of international law” and urged both nations to exercise restraint and observe diplomatic protocols. He emphasised that military interventions risk undermining global non-proliferation efforts and escalating tensions in an already volatile region.
Bilawal also highlighted the importance of the United Nations and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in mediating nuclear compliance. He urged the international community to that such surveillance and verification—not airstrikes—is the only acceptable path.
Warning of far-reaching consequences, Bilawal said reckless military action could threaten energy supplies, trigger new waves of migration, and impact economic stability across South Asia. Pakistan, he said, is calling for dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable response to nuclear concerns.
