LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named 60 promising young cricketers to participate in a two-phase Under-19 training camp at the National Cricket Academy starting tomorrow. This marks a crucial step in the board’s efforts to nurture future national talent.
The camp is split into two groups of 30 players each, and will span the next several weeks. Young cricketers will go through a rigorous schedule featuring technical skill drills, fitness work, and tactical awareness sessions—aiming to build a well-rounded foundation for international play.
This intensive program falls in line with Pakistan’s broader youth development focus. It aims to identify and polish budding stars just in time for upcoming regional and international fixtures. The PCB’s high-performance wing will closely monitor and assess participants based on consistency, technique, and mental preparedness.
Coaches also plan to introduce the players to sports science and injury-prevention measures—the latest tools in modern athletic training—while emphasizing discipline and teamwork.
A display of talent and perseverance here could open doors to future selection for international events like the ICC U-19 World Cup and domestic first-class circuits.
