QUETTA – Police have arrested 11 individuals, including a tribal leader, in connection with the recent killing of a couple in Balochistan. The case has been transferred to the Serious Crimes Investigation Wing for further examination. Superintendent of Police Syed Saboor Agha confirmed that all arrested suspects are scheduled to appear before a judicial magistrate today. The incident, which occurred days before Eidul Azha, was captured in a viral video showing the victims being led into a desert area and shot.
The victims, identified as Bano Bibi and Ihsanullah, were reportedly accused of an ‘immoral relationship’ by a tribal leader, who ordered their execution. The murder was filmed and shared on social media, leading to widespread condemnation. Political leaders and activists have labeled the act as an ‘honour’ killing and called for stringent legal action.
A First Information Report has been filed under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act. Authorities are continuing their investigation to apprehend additional suspects involved in the crime.
