KARACHI: Pakistan’s top two cueists, Khurram Hussain Agha and Naveen Perwani, will represent Pakistan in the World Snooker Championship to be held in Amman (Jordan) in November, the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) announced here on Monday.

As per the deadline of International Billiards and Snooker Federation, the PBSA tentatively had submitted the names of Khurram Agha and Imran Shahzad, the Joint Secretary PBSA Arif Taherbhoy revealed.

However, he said, after Naveen Perwani won the recently concluded Latif Masters Snooker, he jumped to the second spot behind Khurram in national rankings and thus earn the right to play in the world event which is to be held at Jordanian capital from November 4 to 15. “The IBSF had already given us permission to change the name if required,” he added.

He said in the first phase, Khurram Agha, Naveen Perwani, Muhammad Yousuf and Imran Shahzad will be concentrating on snooker training. Besides Khurram and Naveen, veteran Muhammad Yousuf and Sarwar Siddiqui will represent the country in the seniors’ world championship which is being contested side by side with the world contest.
