Australia beat India by 31 runs at the first T20 played out at Stadium Australia in Sydney.
India, which won the toss and let Australia bat first, managed to score 140 runs for the loss of 6 wickets while chasing 172 runs winning target given by the host team. Earlier Ausralia had scored 171 runs in 20 twenty overs at the loss of 4 wickets with Wade contributing 72 runs, an unbeaten Hussey`s 42 runs and Warner 25 runs. Chasing the 172 run winning target India lost wickets in quick succession- Sehwag at 6 runs; Gambhir at 47 runs, Kohli at 53 runs; Sharma too at 53 runs; Raina at 72 runs and Jadeja at 81 runs. End. |
