BCB decides not to include Pakistani players in DPL
03 September, 2013
DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided not to include Pakistani players in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) which will be commenced on September 10, Our Sources reported on Monday.
Despite of the demand from the teams, Bangladesh Board has denied to grant the permission from Pakistan Cricket Board for participation of Pakistani players.
Players of Pakistan have been a part of DPL for years but in 2012 BCB refused to send the Bangladesh team to Pakistan although PCB had made the fool-proof security arrangements for the tour.
BCB promised and then cancelled the decision of sending team, this created the misunderstanding among the two boards and as a result PCB restricted Pakistani players to participate in BPL.
The Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League has been postponed for the sixth time this year, and will now originate on September 10.
The tournament was scheduled to begin on September 3, but has been delayed by a week due to a request from the participating teams.
