Smashmouth JF-17 Thunder air craft
04 September, 2003
September 4th, first prototype of JF-17 thunder combat plane took its maiden flight at Wenjing Airport, China . This light weight combat airplane is manufactured by Pakistan in collaboration with China.
It is affirmed by technical experts JF-17 plane will replace aging fleets of mirage, A5, and F6 with challenging performance to Fighting Falcon F16.
JF-17 Thunder plane is also considered to be having an edge over Indian LCA(Light Combat Aircraft) with futuristic avionics and cost effectiveness.
What do you think about this combat air craft by Pakistan?
Do you think Pakistan is at threshold of modern air technology?
Do you think Pakistan will retain its Air-superiority against India under this plane?

Congrats! |
Congratulations Pakistan for entering into the world of air technology.
Now you have developed tanks, vehicles, aircrafts and not to mention atomic bomb, let's utilize the war industry to develop our economy like the rest of the developed world.

This is very encouraging news. Pakistan must keep all the technological research and development for its survival. Develop more advanced weapons for protection and for the protection of muslim world. Weaker nations can't surive they will be occupied by Americans.

Its very encouraging. This aircraft may not be the best in the world but its yet another sign of the nation's desire to stand on its own feet. I hope the trend will continue.

its time that we start to do something on our one and use our brain(if we have one) rather than depending on China

Though this Fighter Plane is a very good sign for overall engineering and technology sector in Pakistan. But all of these good news wont contribute a lot to Pakistan's progress untill and unless we introuduce technology at gross root level. I dont remember any of Pakistani universities working and conducting research in avionics and other technologies for that matter. We must learn to rely on our own resources. Frankly speaking, i dont like our growing dependence on china for doing serious work.

Great Gift at 6th September |
Pakistani nation always wanted such a precious thing. Its indeed a gift for us.

Eyewash ! |
In the past Pakistan was only importing the finished products from abroad without paying for the costs related to research and development of the product. In this case, Pakistan not only is going to buy it from China but has also paid $400m for R&D ! isn't it amazing. Pakistan could only send 4~6 engineers in response to Chinese Request of 400 engineers and technicians. Is that what you are celebrating here ??? Its an achievement on Chinese part, but a joke for Pakistan.

JF-17 |
Although Pakistan has made JF-17 which can fulfil its requirement of an advance jet fighter but comparing to the needs of the modern warfare it is just like a block in a wall pakistan and china should have to made more projects like this one to boost get the air superiority over their enemies.

we should move fast towards transfer of technology |
It is good news Pakistan name is their for Aircraft manufactruning,But this aircraft should be build in pakistan. Not like Motor Cycle and Cars which manufacture in pakistan but most important parts like Engine etc coming from Parent Company. We should go for full and self reliance path,Allah Gave us Tofiq to do it.

Dawn of a new age? |
Its great news for Pakistan - but at the same time my feelings are sobered by the knowledge that JF-17 is in essence a Chinese triumph ( note the plane's maiden flight took place in China!) and technically its at best 70% combat effective compared to F-16 ( a plane thats 'old' now - it made its maiden flight in mid -1970s.So lets be happy but dont get carried away !

Great But There Is More to Move |
ITs great to sufficient in one of few who can do this we need to explore more by providing Opertunities to youngsters and look for Lates technologies e.g Stealth and Electronic Warefare

I am proud of my country Pakistan. Inshallah, we will defeat our enemy at any cost. Young Indian Mig-21 pilots keep getting killed as they can't fly a jet. Once they finally figure out how to fly JF-17 Thunder will put them back where they belong.
Pakistani fighter Pilots are the best in the world. Make us proud !!!
