Shoaib Akhtar out of cricket for 5 years
03 April, 2008
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday banned Pakistan Ace Speedster, Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar for playing International Cricket for a period of five years on violating the players’ code of conduct.
"The board has lost confidence in Shoaib Akhtar and therefore felt that his presence in the field was damaging to the Pakistan team, for Pakistan players and for the image of Pakistan cricket," PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf said.
“I will not go down without a fight. If the board rejects my appeal I will go to the High Court and Supreme Court to get justice,” Shoaib told a news conference.
“I have not done anything wrong, I haven’t murdered anyone, then why such a harsh penalty?” he said.
“I am totally clueless about the reasons for this harsh ban. I think everyone is clueless about the board’s actions,” he added.
Do you think it is a good decision for Pakistan Cricket?
Do you think shoaib Akhtar should go to High Court against PCB`s verdict?
Will shoaib join the Indian Cricket League(ICL) if he couldn`t be able to get justice throgh High Court?
Where do you see Shaoib`s career in next 5 years?

Connect sports with ego. |
Harper the Canadian PM will not attend Beijing games as it hurts his ego. Shoaib has
been banned for same reason
that he hurts the ego of all
those members in the PCCB.

Yet another example of indifference |
This is yet another glaring example of indifferent attitudes in every sphere of our activities. Shoaib is arrogant in his on as well as off the field activities. He should have been shown the way out, much earlier and his suitable substitute should have been discovered and induced into the national team. But, we cannot act in time to forestall such ugly situations. It is but, our unfortunate national psyche, to learn through the hard way. We shall have to modify our attitudes for which the way needs to be chalked and paved from the top and lived as example.

Shoaib Akhtar out |
It might be an ego problem between the PCB and Shoaib Akhtar. Since he has not signed a contract yet with PCB he can't be punished. He is not a contracted player by PCB and no one will be able to punish him for five years. He is lucky to be out of danger and wish him health and fitness. He is backbone of Pakistani Cricket and must be treated with dignity. Without world class players Dr. Nasim Ashraf will not have that top PCB job, so please be flexible and act like a family head not to treat player as your slave.

Graveyard are full of Indispensibles |
Watch the other superstars like Tendulkar, Ponting, Brett Lee, Lara, Khans of India etc etc, and compare them to Mr Shoib Akhtar. Does he have any humility? Does he have any records to be proud of like them? He is a sheer disgrace to Pakistan Cricket. he can never be a role model for the youngsters. Kick him out and we will have many more Imran khans, Sarfarz Nawaz and Fazal Mehmoods in the coming generations!!!!!

PCB should ban all good players. |
It is a very good act by PCB. Comon PCB, what are you waiting for? Ban all other good players as well!

Shoaib Akhtar is an extraordinary player |
Its a foolish decision by PCB to ban a cricketer like Shoaib. He is a match winner, and one should see when he starts running to deliver the ball. Its awesome, I enjoy it a lot and regret that this decision of PCB would deprive the world to see the class player like Shoaib.
Shame PCB

All good players have mood swings |
All quality players have mood swings, PCB should learn to live with them not get rid of them.
