North Korea`s nuclear test
09 October, 2006
North Korea`s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Monday the country has performed a successful nuclear test. South Korea`s defence ministry said the test was carried out at Hwadaeri near Kilju at 10:36 am (0136 GMT).
The presidential office said the state intelligence agency detected a 3.58 magnitude seismic tremor in North Hamgyong Province in the northeast of the communist state.
"We detected the explosive sound from Hwadaeri near Kilju in North Hamgyong Province at 10:36 am," a senior defense ministry official was quoted by news agency as saying.

1) What would be America`s strategy after this incident?
They will keep denouncing it and lobbying for sanctions. I don't think that there are many more sanctions the U.S. can put in place against N. Korea. I think China must take the lead.
2) Will United Nations back America against North Korea?
I don't think that anyone needs to "back" America. All of the nations in the Asian region must view this as a close threat. The United States should not be singled out as the only objector to the N. Korean actions.
3) What will be North Korea`s Strategy to counter international pressure?
N. Korea is the global version of the U.S. Amish. They march to the beat of a different drummer. Without a radical regime change and re-education of the people, I don't think N. Korea will change and ultimately not survive as a sovereign nation. This probably won't be by the cause of the U.S., but by the actions of the countries in the region.
4) Will other countries i.e. Japan, China and other will support America against North Korea?
Again, America shouldn't be the proponent of the furor against N. Korea. All of the countries in the region should spearhead their own efforts to thwart this threat. Tying everything to the U.S. lead will only result in divisiveness. As a U.S. citizen and taxpayer, I don't want to fund nor manage a world police force.

Just play it cool |
At the very worse, it is a small tactical nucear test of 550 tons TNT yield only, forty times smaller than the Hiroshima or India-Pakistan tested bombs of 1998. Pravda is talking of it as a fake thing to extract some advantages through political bargaining by N.Korea.
That is why even the sanctions brokers are talking of mild sanctions. The sky does not fall with a baby nuke bomb test of not even a kilo ton yield.
The sanctions regime has apparently too much to sanction off.Pretty soon it may run out of sanctions.

Pyongyang, now live long
Well done Pyongyang, now you will live long long. Power is the only oxygen in this ‘jungle planet’ which validates the life. Now even if you are shoot down, suppose, suppose, no one would be able to put you down. There will be no torrential of death- clusters – no pounding of daisy-cutters - no MOABs – no abu-ghraibs – and no thora-bora. Death is not that hurting as degradation has been.
Japan must not weep that loudly, for she must not forget, had she been nuclear in 1945 she won’t had been nuked!!!
Thanks to the so called democratic India, who nuclearized Pakistan – thanks to the so called democratic Israel who nuclearized Iran and thanks to the so called democratic US who nuclearized North Korea, good work!!!
Every Pharaoh himself brings up his own Moses, Who is Moses for the Pharaoh US; it is every body’s guess!!! They can’t live who can’t die!!!
