Musharraf book a pack of lies, full of contradictions: Ahsan

President Pervez Musharraf`s much-publicised but controversial book " In the Line of Fire " is making waves worldwide especially in USA and Pakistan amid contesting statements issued by the Indian authorities, and Pakistani opposition parties. The book was released on Monday last in New York by The Free Press, and imprinted by Simon and Schuster. With the launch of his book, General Musharraf has become the first ever government servant in the history of Pakistan, who has written a book. Ources say that the book has been drafted by Hummayun Gohar, a son of late Altaf Gohar, who had written the famous book “friends not Masters for General Ayub Khan.

The opposition parties have charged General Musharraf with leaking secret information, while the legal experts are of the view that no in-service government servant, especially when he is holding the sensitive office of the chief of army staff cannot write any book. General Musharraf has earned a sum of one million dollars as royalty of his book, which he said he would disburse for philanthropy.

In his book, General Musharraf has painted a bleak picture for Pakistan had it not joined the United States in the war on terrorism and says that the 1999 Kargil standoff with India boosted the cause of freedom for Kashmir.

However, the former assistant US foreign secretary, Richard Armitage, who is blamed for issuing such harsh threat to Pakistan, has denied that he had ever used such a threat.

General Musharraf has also disclosed that India was responsible for turning the Kargil skirmish into a full-fledged war, however, the former Indian Premier Atal Bihari Vajpaee has contested the former`s claim saying that Indian army was in defensive position when the war started.

Here are some questions.
1) What do you think about the contents of the book?
2) Do you agree with the legal experts that no in-service government servant can write a book?
3) Has General Musharraf leaked any state secrets in his book?
4) Hasn`t General Musharraf used state resources for publicity of his book as he is in America on an official visit?

In the line of fire

Musharaff has totally disgusted the world and the pakistani public by making one contradicting statements after the other. This was remarked in the western n world media. This shows politics n a career diplomat unlike Benazir/Nawaz is not there in his character.Democracy is where Allah knows???

Not a politician

An In-service government servant cannot write or publish a book.He has revealed the state secrets of the nation with him being the president and also the Chief of Army Staff.Musharaff used state resouces for the publicity of his books when he was on an official visit representing Pakistan.Totally wrong. In short the book is filled with all sorts of stories which would dishearten the public and the International community.Musharaff is still not a career diplomat or a politician which is his biggest weakness n might bring his downfall.

Give up all offices and retire.

Musharaff has taken pakistan back to the stone age.His political style n thinking in commando style would work nowhere. His advisers n generals r all corrupt retired generals sitting to make a fortune,We the pak public are totally disgusted with Musharaff and his dictatorship.Moderation Islamic state with dictatorship democracy.Allah bless pakistan.Musharaff made a mockery of pakistan and himself in the United States.Musharaff thinks he has smartly projected his book and himself and made a fool of pakistan.

In the LIES of fire

The book is a half baked attempt to reveal historical events through a jaundiced eyes of a General who has witnessed more failures and yet tries to portray himself as superman.

I wonder if Pakistan gained out of Kargil as he claims, how is it that Kargil is still with India? This after losing hundreds of fine soldiers who were used as cannon fodder for the "war gaming" of Musharraf as he says. Not surprisingly he has covered up the issue of casualties in his book.

Moderate/Progressive pakistan

All I only wish that the day comes when our country would have democracy in the right spirit/not musharaff style. All the leaders should see that the military intervention at present should be the last in the history of pakistan.Even if there happens to be a re- election in a democractic way.Our country has been tarnished and taken back year after year by military dictatorship.Lets focus on economy development rather then fattening the ISI as according to Mr.Musharaff for him to remain in power life long and deprive the poor people .

IN THE LINE OF PROLONGING POWER

ALL THE EFFORTS ARE BEING DONE TO RULE THE COUNTRY IN WHICH FAMILIES LIKE THE CH.OF GUJRAT ARE IN ABUNDANCE TO LOOK AFTER THEIR AND THE ARMY GENERALS.THE BOOK IS NOTHING BUT AN EFFORT TO DECEIVING THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN.CONSIDERING ONESELF THE MOST INTELLIGENT GENERAL IN THE PAKISTAN ARMY AND CONDEMNING ALL THE DECISIONS OF THE PRIOR GENERALS WRONG WITHOUT ANY FORESIGHTEDNESS IS NOTHING BUT LIVING IN FOOLS PARADISE.SINCE THE DAY OF INDEPENDENCE ALL THE RULERS HAVE BEEN SAYING THAT THE EXISTENCE OF THE COUNTRY IS GOING THROUGH A VERY DELICATE STAGE AND IF THEY ARE NOT THERE THEN GOD FOR BIDS THE COUNTRY WILL NOT SURVIVE.THE TIME HAS PROVEN THAT ALL THE TALK HAS BEEN FOR PROLONGING THEIR RULE AND NOTHING ELSE.THE SAME THING IS BEING DONE NOW.CLUSTERING PEOPLE AROUND WHO SELL THEIR LOYALTIES TO WHO EVER IS IN POWER IS NOT LOOKED UPON A GESTURE TO SERVING THE NATION BUT INFACT IT IS DESTROYING THE COUNTRY.ALL THE INCIDENTS NARRATED IN THE BOOK ARE SELF PRAISE .

clinching evidence

Two Al-Badar militants with pakistani passports and their revealing themselves through out the world and in India media has tarnished the involvement of pakistan under Musharaff who controls nothing in pakistan except selling his book. The two on interogation have revealed that they have been subjected to terror activities by the ISI.I as a pakistani find it very difficult to understand that the whole world pointing fingers at us would finally brand us as the hub of terrorism.Civilian rule of the people would make pakistan a moderate Islamic state otherwise we are heading for all sorts of trouble.I feel that Musharaff and his advisers are busy making their own fortune if they loose the election rather then making a progtessive pakistan.Allah bless pakistan and kill the evil.

when will the people of pakistan wake up

there are lots of pro's and con's about musharaaf in general and now about his book, but the question is that when will the people of pakistan wake up and relise that the general's and the army can never be good for the country if they are running it like politician's and not defending it 100% like they are suppose too. they are braking the oath they took under the constitution when they dismiss and take over an elected government and make mockery of the people of pakistan's sacred vote which they use in accordance with the country's constitution to elect their parliament and govenment to run their affair's for them and they alone have the right to dismiss the government and parliament thru their vote and not by some general's or the president who dont like it when the government does not take orders from them.
