The Results are in Government is out

Pakistan elections 2008: The results are in and Musharraf Government is defeated
By Wasi Siddiqui
(Member of the Canadian Authors Association)

The much –anticipated elections in Pakistan finally comes to an end and the People of Pakistan gave their verdict, the verdict which was proven to be one-sided and ruling Government has been defeated with a big margin.

It has been widely said that People of Pakistan who has been struggling and has no right of for basic necessities of life like water , electricity , and other needs has one right so far that that is the called the “vote”. The vote which they are always urged to give regardless they have water or electricity or not, to be honest for the People of Pakistan this is the only right they have been able to get in 60 years of Pakistan independence.

Yes, this is a big surprise to know how come People of Pakistan has been able to get hold of one of the right which possibly could easily been denied to them as well, well this is the question which many experts tried to find out , one thing that is clear that who ever wants to hold a public office needs votes in order to enjoy the privileges as a member of National Assembly or Provisional Assembly and once they are elected then they forget the voters and start a new luxury life and enjoying perks as a Government officials.

The recent defeat of the Government is a clear message that people cannot be put into dark and play in the name of terrorism while they struggle to find basic necessities of life such as flour, oil while water and electricity play hide an seek as usual and Government has no control over the situation while the daily commodities prices keep on rising.

The scenario surrounding the operation of Red Mosque, with army being involved in hunting and killing in the name of war on terror, , and then came the worse game of Musharraf when he removed Chief Justice of Pakistan , suspended the constitution and imposed emergency rule in the country and recent assassination of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto has made the people outrage while many believe that Musharraf Government was involved in the plot to kill Bhutto , finally spoke in the favors of change and why not ,When and how long they can continue to see the downfall of the system of the country, In fact there is a famous saying that people‘s verdict is always in the best interest of the country.

At least one thing is clear for People of Pakistan that how much trouble they can find themselves in, at least the “vote” is the only choice left for them to remove a Government and bring on a new Government, again not sure whether the new Government can bring a change in their lives, but they have a hope attached with the “vote” that can give a clear message to the Government that enough is enough.

In my opinion the people of Pakistan are surviving and not living in Pakistan, but one thing is for sure that they must be very fortunate to have something in the country which promises them more than water and electricity, yes the change which they can bring with the people’s power called the “vote”. One can only pray to Allah that one day a sincere leader will rise to the occasion and help the people of Pakistan, who are suffering in the hands of so-called leaders widely known as (scam artists) who promises them a lot, but in the end gives them disappointments only.

May Allah help and bring a sincere leader in the Pakistan.

Coalition Government with Own Prime Minister

A coalition government, or coalition cabinet, is a cabinet of a parliamentary government in which several parties cooperate. The usual reason given for this arrangement is that no party on its own has achieved a majority in the parliament A coalition government might also be created in a time of national crisis involving Judiciary Suicide attacks lawlessness pending work such as recognition of Kosovo by Pakistan Govt.Turkey had similar situation and went from Military to Democracy and current business income for 2007 exceeds $500 billion with 70 million .Turkey without having Resource of rich countries.Turkey has identical situation .Govt must govern to look after the voters who have high hope. This is Democracy. That is what you wanted.

Democracy in Pakistan

I think President Musharaf fulfilled his promise of free and fair election. But Pakistani leaders like, leaders in the Muslim world are for destroying the opposition, beleaving if you don't, they will do.

Muslim politicians need to change and adopt to real Democracy, in which your opposition does not deserve, what you don't like. Otherwords, they make it a "win win" situation.

Honestly, I did not like when Mr. Nawaz Sharif warned Mr. Musharaf of his days being numbered. lets don't go for revange, instead go for the country and people.

post election

Populace has spoken. Musharraf must accept the defeat & quit(he is a chicken, he won't). If not he should be tried for treason and all other illegal acts. A commission should be establish to investigate all his deeds, political killings & imprisonments, including the Kargil debacle. He should be offered the choice between the death sentence or exile in his country of birth!

Lets get Real

So Nawaz Sharif now proclaims to be a champion of the Judiciary. Can someone please explain to him the hypocrisy of his stance?

Back on 28th November 1997, didn’t he orchestrate an attack on the Supreme Court of Pakistan using the thugs from within his party? Why –because the Chief Justice – Syed Sajjad Ali Shah was presiding over a case against Nawaz Sharif. Subsequently the Chief Justice was removed from office by a revolt of alternative judges the whole thing again having been orchestrated by the two crooked Sharif brothers.

Didn’t he do exactly what Pervez Mushraff did – i.e. attack the judiciary that was acting against him. This is fact and a fact that will come back to haunt the people of Pakistan all of whom seem to have a memory span of a few number of years.

It is utterly deplorable that both the PPP and PML-N have been elected when they are both headed by a bunch of crooks. It’s the politics of our beloved country of Pakistan that allow these crooks to walk around as if they have done no wrong – had they done what they have and were citizens of a western country, there is absolutely no way they would have come back with so much swagger.

Nawaz Sharif talks about ridding the country of dictators, someone needs to remind him that he himself is a protégé of one of the most brutal dictators our country has seen – he was a favourite of that regime.

All the news agencies of Pakistan seem to forget that what ever freedom they have, they have because it was allowed by the General – why didn’t Nawaz Sharif, use his two terms – however short – too give more freedom to the press and news outlets other than the fact that they were too busy stealing from the coffers of the country. It is incumbent upon all news outlets worth their salt, to questions these leaders about there past transgresses and to give them an opportunity to explain the change in their stance.

It is without doubt that these leaders will again plunder the country – it is in their nature – once a thief always a thief – there is no doubt that Mr Zardari will want payment for the time he spent in jail – in stead of going through the normal recourse of exacting compensation for internment that he thinks was wrong – he will go about making up the compensation by plundering the country.

I just wish there were some people with enough backbone to stand up and ask all the right questions from these crooks rather than letting them off the hook with niceities.

Crazy Pakistanis

All Pakistanis are mainly cheap & fanatics. Current election proved it. Musharraf was the best man to guide his country for last 9 years. Sharifs & Bhuttos are all corrupteds and inepts. Yet they got elected by greedy Pakistanis. Sharifs & Bhuttos got endorsements from unruly & crazy Pakistani newspapers & medias. Too sad and shameful. Shame on you crazy Pakistani people.

Comparing with Turkey

YES PAKISTAN DOES COMPARE WITH TURKEY A LOT.BUT, WE PAKS HAVE TO ACT AND WORK LIKE TURKS.

TURKEY, LIKE PAKISTAN DOES NOT HAVE MUCH OF HYDROCARBON ENERGY RESOURCES OF OIL AND GAS OR EVEN COAL.BUT, THEIR ECONOMY EXCEEDS 600 BILLION DOLLARS FOR 70 MILLION PEOPLE OR EOUGHLTY 10000 DOLLARS PER CAPITA OR NINE TIMES MORE PER CAPITA OF WHAT WE HAVE IN PAKISTAN.

I THINK THE KEY DIFFERENCE THAT I FOUND BETWEEN US AND TURKS FROM MY LONG TIME AND VERY MUCH ASSOCIATION WITH TURKS IS THAT THEY LOVE THEIR COUNTRY VERY MUCH.MOST TURKS GO BACK AFTER RETIREMENT. THEY GO AND VISIT TURKEY VERY OFTEN WHEN THEY ARE WORKING.

AND MOST IMPORTANT THE TURKS ARE VERY TURKS AT HEART.THE RICH TURKS DO NOT STEAL OR EVEN RELOCATE THEIR MONEY INTO THE RICH WEST.EVEN THEIR PRETTIEST LOOKING BLUE EYED ACTRESS SINGER DANCER SIBAL JAN REFUSED TO MOVE TO ANY WHERE ELSE WHILE PEOPLE OUTSIDE TURKEY AND EVEN AMERICAN ACTRESSERS GOT CRAZE FOR HER VERY PRETTY LOOKS.NOT TURKISH PARLIAMENT MAN OR A GENERAL FROM ARMY MOVED OUT OF TURKEY WITH NATION'S ROBBED MONEY.

AND I HAVE ALLWAYS BEEN DELIGHTED TO FIND THAT THE TURKS HAVE VERY SPECIAL LOVE FOR PAKISTANIS.EVEN THEIR DIGNATORIES, THEITR FAMOUS AND VERY PRETTY ACTRESSES WILL PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO YOU IF THEY FIND THAT YOU ARE A PAKISTANI.THIS FACT HAS REALLY DELIGHTED ME TO THE CORE AND BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

I THINK THAT PAKS HAVE STRONG OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME WELL OFF LIKE TURKS BY KEEPING THEIR MONEY AND LOYALTIES WITHIN THE COUNTRY.

PAKISTAN CAN BECOME A VERY PROSPEROUS COUNTRY BY PLAYING THE ENERGY CARDS VERY RIGHT. PAKISTAN IS IN BETWEEN THE SUPPLY AND DEMAND OF OIL AND GAS BETWEEN THE WORLD'S MOST PROLIFIC PLAYERS.

PAKISTAN IS THE ONLY ENERGY CONDUIT BETWEEN OIL AND GAS RICH MIDDLE EAST AND CENTRAL ASIA AS SUPPLIERS AND MAINLY CHINA AND TO LESS EXTENT INDIA ON DEMAND SIDE.CHINA DESPERATELY WANTS PAKISTAN FOR THAT REASON AND WITH ITS LARGEST IN THE WORLD CASH RESERVES OF 1.5 TRILLION DOLLARS.

AGAIN, I LOVE OUR FATHER NATION TURKS FROM MAHMUD GHAZNAVI ON TO MUGHALS TO OTTOMANS AND NOW THE MODERN TURKS.

All lost

The turn out has been less than 40%. It represents majority of Pakistanis does not like to vote for any participating politicians.
It appears PPP will nominate a candidate for the post of PM and PPP is hijacked by Zardari, it does not matter who the face would be the matter of fact is new PM will be a hench man of Zardari.
Believe it or not today, Zardari is the owner of Pakistan.
Fact remains no single PPP member has the abilities to do the job.

PM? difficult choices

Success in democracy demands fair and honest judgments. But judgment without knowledge is suicide. In politics, taking calculated risk is an elementary pre-requisite but, calculations also require some basic knowledge about the factors involved. Imagine, we greeted Musharraf when he he came out of the blue and saved us from Sharif. Now we are greeting and expecting Zardari-Sharif alliance to save us from Musharraf. And the sea-saw appears to be going on.

I am perplexed about orientation of our political game on stage. As an ordinary educated Pakistani who has been through all mills of life, it is my daily experience of having promises of heavenly goodies coming our way from the those holding the fort of governance but getting only, ever dwindling prisoners ration, after spending endless man-hours in queues. And, nobody has time and senility to dig out and remove the root causes of our troubles.

Readers can appreciate our profound sense of frustration from one simple equation. Imagine the financial wizardry of our hand-picked genius of a Prime Minister called " Shaukat Aziz" who proffered a unique recipe for getting us out of our financial mess by "selling profitable national assets for peanuts and saving the nation". Can you imagine the extent of foolishness in the decision to sell Karachi Steel Mills and its attached estate of several thousand acres of prime land at a cost of Rs.21.7 billion and wash that money down the drain? Its not a joke but, cockeyed fact. A decision was taken by the Prime Minister to privatize country's entire backbone of steel muscle and divert almost the entire sale proceed money in making the Leh Expressway, or Shaikh Rasheed Expressway, estimated to cost Rs. 20 billion, to link Rawalpindi with Islamabad. Work on the project was inaugurated by the President on 22nd. Sept., 2007. The expressway is located on two banks of Leh Nullah, Rawalpindi's main refuse drain. Can there be any better example of "down the drain planning"? It was a sou motto action of the sacked Chief Justice which saved the country from a horrible conspiracy to ground its industrial dreams for good. Perhaps, it was a personal sacrifice of the Chief Justice for the nation for which we should be ever thankful. He is no less a saviour than A.Q.Khan.

President Help form Coalition Cabinet & Prime Minister Without Delay

Let us see who Is Prime Minister. No one saw photo or portrait or painting of the Holy prophet. Even the collection of Scholars or MPs are no substitute. In democracy President Musharraf was supposed to ask voted MPS to create A Ruling Party and one Opposition party tohurriedly form a cabinet.Who is Zardari or Nawaz Sharif without even being elected as MPs via Election to run 166 million? Consequently came Federal Govt Shia Of Holy Prophet Household by wife and daughter side and opposition In Election dispute as Sunni side father in law who became next Prime Minister Or Cabinet Premier Minister. It is President like Dr Rajendra Prasad who Supervised and created PM and Cabinet Ministers from Ruling Party or Coalition Party. Election Bills of Democracy Needed for Continuity

Democracy came with Islamic constitution in Quran Format.Authentic Hadith came as Case Study.Shia Mourning came with election dispute of Cabinet Ministers. Ministers 4 major ones came with intelligence

The merit not political expedeincy

Let for once the merit and not political expedeincy, dictated by Musharaf or Zardari ,decide who should be the P.M of Pakistan. The best choice is Aitzaz Ahsan, one of the oldest members of PPP and president of Supreme court Bar Association of Pakistan who spearheaded the movement of legal fraternity backed by civic bodies for restoration of rule of law through independent judiciary(preNov.2007).This will also ensure scope of lasting coalition,of main winning parties PPP and PML N by fulfilling the key agenda of PML N through P.M,nominated by PPP.
As long as Musharaf fulfilling his commitment for free and fair election is concerned, everyone one with an iota of common sense knows, the results are to the total his chagrin and would have never opted for it ,except the directive of new army chief to agencies not to meddle and vigilant monitoring by a large entourage of EU and American monitoring teams. However covert rigging in Sind as reported by Fatima Bhutto in her interviews and foreign monitoring teams was there apart from outrageous indirect rigging in Baluchistan by keeping the real Baluchi leadership out through boycott of elections under illegally president Musharaf, to get his stooges elected which is not going to work for long. Musharaf has to go to let democracy gain roots to do away with a sham it fabricated by him. Gen.Kiayani has also assured to support new coalition government in fulfillment of their commitments to the people for facilitating relative stablity of political order for building muscles to fight extremism effectively.

Now is the time...

Now is the time to prove to the country and the people one thing and only one thing "UNITY" for the sake of mother of all good things can be brought to the nation.
Pakistani people and leaders need to leave hitrate and devisions behind them and now is the time. Devisions will break Pakistan into peices that can't be bonded. The civil war, the loss of Pakistans pride of defense will be among those coming first. The enemy is looking for those vacumes to go after Pakistan and the leaders must not make that happens. Mrs. Bhutto lost her life for unity. She was under house arrest but did not for a moment forgot her country or the people. Mr.Musharaf saved the father of Pak. Nuclear I.Q.Khan who was badly wanted by the enemy, I gave him the credit. I think Mr. Musharaf, Mr. Sharif and Mr. Gilani can united and lead Pakistanis toward a beautiful tommorrow. Good luck Pakistan!
