Chairman Kahuta Research Laboratories (KRL) Dr Qadeer Khan met with President Musharraf and asked for clemency from all charges against him in view of the services he rendered for the country. He said that all his actions although were in good faith but an error in judgment was made for which he is extremely sorry. Pres. Musharraf and cabinet pardoned Dr Qadeer in wider national interest.

Dr AQ Khan also publicly apologized on state TV to the public for the “anguish” and the “sorrow” his actions have caused to the Pakistani nation and the government. He also upheld that the nuclear transfer occurred on his behest and no former or present government was in anyway involved.

President Musharraf in his address to the editors and renowned journalists, blamed the media for mishandling this sensitive issue of nuclear leakage.

1. Is Dr Qadeer’s confession a result of remorse or pressure by the government?

2. Should the issue of debriefing of scientists be raised politically or put in cold storage?

3. What will be the international impact on confessional statement by Dr AQ Khan regarding proliferation?

4. How do you think Pakistani media has handled this issue ?

National hero

It a fact that Dr. A. Q. Khan is our national hero. Beyond doubt, he has done the right thing and the government is playing in the hands of the foreign powers esp. America. Instead of torturing Dr. Khan he should be given some seat of excellence in any university or institute, so that he could have guided our fellow countrymen (students). Due to the pressure, Dr. Khan now have cancer. (He has been treated but its a fact that cancer is a deadly illness and we still don't know how much has been treated). May Allah give us some wisdom so that we can be a nation with dignity as well. Insha-Allah

Muslim history repeated

wht can i say about those who said various stupid words againest our national hero. i just wanna say one thing tht if this man was not made the pakistan's nuclear program today u are not see any pakistan in the earth.and for those who say Dr. AQ sell Atomic energy prog to korea or bla bla..how foolish they or how influenced they are from the westeren media which first motive is to abuse as much as they can againest muslims. why westeren media did'nt made a docmentary on israel or iraq or afghanistan where daily thousand muslims are killed without any reason and called them tarrorist. my bro and sis it is not what is goin on but it is the things tht westren media forced to seem us. there is nothing wrong with Dr. Aq or any muslim scientist or any muslim jihadi or any other muslim. but our wrong perception among ourselves and for the americans or anti muslim lobby. we think tht wht they say is true because we are under complex of do nothing but no more than a victim of puppet in there hands by watching, listning and beleiving all the shits whcih they blame on muslim fiding tht they are always right.so its all about u think ur a muslim if ur than do not think as a mankind reformer or crazy things like tht because this world is never be in peace scince it was created so now how it could be.we are muslim and as mulim we must fight for our cause. the cause of muslim for our brother hood or for our creed as the crist or other religion's follower did and doing for there's one. do not abuse or do not thing wrong about our gr8 ppl because they did and did it for muslim cause.

muslim world dilemma

yah it is....it has been a gr8 problem wid muslim world for a long time now....we dont respect n admire our heros! there are so many examples in every walk of life for us where we put our heros to disgrace and salute those who have nothing to do wid peoples welfare rather make things worst for us...!i believe this attitude should change now & any 1 of us , pakistanis should bot be having any doubt abt dR.AQ`S LOYALITY n,patriotism and love for the country...he is the proud of pakistan....!!

AQ Khan was made a scapegoat by Musharraf. Nuclear trade & proliferation was done by ISI & military but a national hero took the fall and the blame. Now he is free, I hope the truth comes out. Similarly ISI's covert support to Taliban to topple Karzai govt. is backfiring now that Taliban is creating such a menace in Pakistan so much so now Pakistan's terretorial integrity is threatened, Time & again military's misadventures has cost Pakistan dearly, same thing happened in Bangladesh. I won't be surprised that ISI was involved in Mumbai massacre. We must independent judiciary, transparent govt. and a strong secular democratic constitution modeled on the democrasies like US & UK.

The very sad feeling which a citizen can have is when he/she has to read OPINIONS of people of other states on their home state. here i am talking about a patriotic citizen. what is government, politics , international relations, diplomacy, law ,rule ,order security all about?? what is PRESIDENTSHIP or PRIMEMINISTERSHIP about??? about being loyal to THE NATION first! we all can be very sensitive here but are we all PAKISTANIS ACTUALLY LOYALY AND TRUE? STARTING FROM A WORKER WHOSE ISSUE IS BREAD TO THE LEADER WHOSE ISSUE IS GOOD GOVERNANCE, LOYALTY TO THE NATION IS THE KEY TO SUCESS! WHY DO WE, WHY PAKISTAN IS ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION? OUR LIL ACT CAN BE DECLARED AS ACT OF AGGRESSIVE. WE ARE A POOR STATE NO MATCH FOR THE MUCH BIGGER STATES. WE ARE NOT ROUGE BANANA OR A MIGRANE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY~WE ALL ARE SO UN SURE ABOUT THE CIVIL WAR WE ARE HAVING THE DETERIORATING SITUATION IN SWAT WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SECURITY???? WHOOOO???? WHO IS THE CULPRIT? WHY ARE THOSE GROUPS BLAMED FOR EVERYTHING THE TALIBANS . WHO ARE CALLE AS EXTREMIST WHO ARE NOT EVEN THAT QUALIFIED FOR CUH DEVASTATING THINGS THEY ARE BLAMED FOR ? WE ARE ALL SLEEPING WE CAN ONLY COMMENT FIGHT CONTRADICT TAKE OUT OUR INNER ANGER BUT CAN NEVER ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING.. PAKISTAN IS LOOSING EVERYTHING...AND NOW ITS SOVEREIGNTY!! A.Q KHAN WHICH AGAIN HAS BECOME AN ISSUE FOR THE INETRNATIONAL COMMUNITY IS THE ONLY HERO WHO COULD DO SOMETHING FOR US...AND HERE WE HAVE A LIST OF CRITICISM!
