The National Assembly speaker has sent two disqualification references against Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to the Election Commission under article 62-63 of the constitution.

The references filed by the Muttehida Quami Movement (MQM) members and federal minister for parliamentary affairs, Dr Sher Afghan Niazi charged that Mr Khan, who has recently appeared a strong critic of President general Pervez Musharraf and the MQM, has had illicit relations with an American woman, Sita White, and is father of an illicit child.

In response to these references, the opposition members have also submitted the disqualification reference against Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and demanded the speaker to send it to Election Commission within 30 days.

A reference, signed by 31 opposition members, stated that prime minister is not eligible for Assembly membership under articles 62 and 63 of the constitution.

According to a charge framed in the reference, prime minister had caused stock market crisis through his front man Arif Habib and earned the money by illegal means.

Privatization of Steel Mills also mentioned in the reference and stated that the verdict of the Supreme Court in this connection is sufficient for disqualification of the prime minister.

Political observers believe that the ongoing blame-game will take the rival politicians to nowhere, and will open a new Pandora-box. They think that if personal life of Imran Khan is discussed then the same formula can be applied on several treasury members, including President General Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz ( who has recently been blamed for trying to seduce US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice), MNA Shahid Jameel, who is being tried for murdering his Canadian National friend, Kafila Sidduqi, who had been living with him for two years, MNA, Kashmala Tariq, who too is notorious for her friendships, and others.

Here are some questions
1) Is this justified to discuss the personal life of politicians?
2) Is Imran Khan the only black sheep in the parliament?
3) Is this a pressure tactic against Imran, who has been vocal against MQM?
4) Where will the politics of blame-game leave us?

Imran Khan Should Stand For the Cause.

Imran Khan Should Stand For the Cause.

Imran Khan is known for more than cricket. His discipline, organizing skills and courage are known to everybody. After the May 12 incident almost all political leader disappointed the nation. This was a time a faction of people with particular background and interests resurged again to once again take Pakistan’s most populous city hostage. More than 40 people were killed for on wrong on their part. Journalists and opposition political workers were attacked and the Chief Justice with top lawyers were denied right of free movement despite a schedule already given to the local government. Only one of all the casualties belonged to he MQM. Most of the killed were Pathan of ANP. Following their usual “accuse others of your own offences” policy MQM started accusing ANP of the killings. But soon the ANP leader was shown sitting with the MQM leadership and the MQM guns turned towards the two popular parties PPP and PML(n). While the leadership of these parties could not respond in an adequate manner only Imran Khan came up with what I believe a correct line of action. He decided to move the court for damages sustained by his party during May 12. It was his constitutional right. It was not a personal matter as claimed by the MQM because it involved public damage by a group leaded by some one enjoying life abroad. If you kill somebody and his heirs go to court; can you stop him by declaring this act a personal offence against the killer? If the accused is innocent, as he claims, the court will decide in his favor. But when one makes a lot of hue and cry it always smells fishy. People, especially the affectees got infuriated when President declared that o enquiry was needed into the killings. Imran Khan took a stand and faced all the dirty tactics by the opponents. Even the government sported the MQM by arranging everything in it’s power to malign Imran’s image locally and abroad. An outstanding example is state minister for interior taking and handing over Sarfaraz Nawaz to the MQM leader in the UK. Further, the National Assembly speaker colluded with the MQM and forwarded, in haste, to the CEC, a unique yet unnecessary and debatable reference for disqualification against Imran. Despite all the efforts Imran’s image got a boost for he came out as the most outstanding figure in Pakistan’s political horizon. Imran Khan has got some qualities we badly need in our political leadership. His courage, discipline, organizational skills, anticorruption stance and clean hands are same of the rare qualities we find among our politicians.

Altaf is a murderer, Imran is not

NOTE: I am a "Mohajir" from Karachi and I am asahmed of Altaf "bhai" and MQM.

Imran may had fling with Sita White, his weakness stopped there. However, Altaf, Don of political mafia MQM, is far more morally wretched than one can imagine. His hand is blooded with murder of dozens of Pakistanis, including men and women of his own mafia group. The man who used to live a life of a lower middle class in Karachi, riding an old 50 cc motorbike now lives a life of luxury in London. His luxurious life is supported by the bhatta (extortion money) collected by his goons in Karachi and hyderabad.

There's no comparison between Altaf, the murderer and extortionist, and Imran, the philinthropist. Altaf destroys lives, Imran builds hospitals.

Mind your business....dont be peeping toms.

On one hand we talk about "Islamic State" on the other we talk about not bringing out what we know about the characters of those who are aspiring to lead a nation of muslims !
It quite surprising where the ummah is going to now, they are willing to take corrupt individuals as their leaders, specially those who aspire to hold an authority over the nation of Pakistan, and wish to write off the profile of corruption of such aspirers who wish to become an authority of Pakistan.
Yes foregoing and forebearing is a very good characterstic but forgetting the same is not.
Yes what has happend can be forgiven but cannot be forgotten when it comes to these culprits when it comes to accepting such people as our leadership and it goes for everyone including Imran Khan.
Imran Khan who insists that he is not there for politics but out there only with a campaign for justice for all yet he continues to attempt to capitalize on fabricated matters in the political arena. One cant play cricket and field hockey at the same time.

I called their Judges “My Lord” few times like other lawyers (only to be Swindled amost like by common criminal). If you have been suppressed by Cannon rule it is 100% Criminal offence with or without court stamp. If you associate with Common Law people of west you

Imran Khan (Niazi)

He could have easily chosen the life of luxury and worldly comforts but opted for a life of a true patriot and service to nation.Setting up a hospital (cancer cure) in
Lahore speaks volume of man's character. Being a Niazi myself, I know Dr. Sher Afgan. We had an unwritten rule
among Niazi Pathans that you stand by Niazis once you are out of Mianwali district. We do have our disagreements but to stoop down to lowest level exhibited by Dr. Sher Afgan is naked violation of Pathan code of honour. MQM and
Altaf Hussain are scums of the Earth. Why did Dr.Sher Afgan become party to this filth ?

If you know the life of persons growing up in public, you will stop creticizing Imran Khan. Try to look into what he alone did for the country. It is not piece of cake to build some thing out of scrach, and make it work. While going through the process what personal stigmas one have to go throuh.

Disqualification References

Well, reference filed by MQM is nothing but only a counter act of Imran Khan's criticism on MQM. Many of Imran's and MQM's objectives are good like holding justice in the country but problem is that MQM wants all good things but also wants to keep their rascalism.

Vote Imran Khan

Benazir Bhutto, twice prime minister did nothing but rob Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif, twice prime minister did nothing but rob Pakistan. Altaf Hussein, I don't think I need to go into what he's done. Musharraf, dictator. I don't have an ounce of faith in any of the above. Imran Khan has my vote. Forget what people say look at their actions. He has done more good for the country than anyone else. Not only that, but he's done good for the country when he didn't have to. Imagine what he'll do once he takes on the role of our representative and servant. What he did in his private life...WHO CARES? And people who keep bringing Islam and Muslims into the debate, DON'T DO THAT. Islam and Politics should remain separate. Not everyone in Pakistan is a Musilm and not all Muslims practice to the same extent. As Mohammad Ali Jinnah said "you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques". We are a FREE nation. Not bound by any religion.

inevitable socio-political change in pakistan

Dear Sir/Madam,
Democracy as a system of governance and interest representation demands respect
for dissent and opposition. It recognizes the principle of majority rule and guarantees, protection of minorities. Democracy also builds faith in electoral contestation to gain public office and gives legitimacy to political parties as primary instruments for acquisition and transfer of power from one set of individuals to another, however the internal blame culture is to promote the possible benefit for the concerned party only it has no concern with the right of deprived people of Pakistan.

Since the creation of Pakistan the Pakistani people are left at distant from the corridor of power, so that the ruling elite can do what they wanted to do in favor of their interest, leaving the Pakistani people at the mercy of circumstances. As this policy is denial of right of Pakistani people to rule their country according to their aspiration and desire to built this country, which can provide equal opportunity to all without any discrimination for the establishment of welfare society. Instead the people were divided in to muhajir, Sindhi, Punjabi, pukhtun and Baloch. Only the society base on tolerance, equality and justice can be the real guarantee for the prosperous and strong Pakistan there for your intention is invited to the crucial movement which could be the point of distraction or disaster. Many innocent people are dying every day-week and every month. Because of bombast, suicide attacks and target killing in Pakistan the factual condition is that nothing happened in this world without any reason, the need of the time is to redress the grievances of the people and eliminate the reason.

The right way to reverence to Martyr is to eliminate the causes after the incidents. If we can redress the route cause after the suicide killing, we can save many lives in future. The only way out is the change of system the route cause of all kind of grievances, the time is to empower the Pakistani at grass route level to eliminate the socio-political injustice and strengthen the unity within the society at large, and closing the door for outsiders or intruder to penetrate in our society because of social unrest.

Unfortunately, despite the significance of the democratic elements, only the power full elite are fitted in power and Pakistani are always left at the mercy of circumstances again and again... As this policy is denial of right of Pakistani people to rule their country according to their aspiration and desire to built this country, which can provide equal opportunity to all without any discrimination for the establishment of welfare society. Only the society based on tolerance, equality and justice can be the real guarantee for real peace and progress in the society. Therefore, Change of socio-political system is inevitable to empower the Pakistani at grass route level for rapid industrial and agriculture development.
