Pakistan

Being a Pakistani, it's obvious that I will be supporting Pakistan and would very much like them to win this world cup for Pakistan. All my prayers are with the Pakistani teams. At the sametime, I would like to ask everyone to not to blame the team for the sake of nothing, if they loose any game. After all it's a sport extravaganza, and there will be a looser and winner..

Thanks

India is going to win the world cup

It's India who will dominate .....
We have the best batsman of the world on our side and we shall win this world cup with quite an ease..

England should play in Zimbabwe

It's quite disturbing to see that England is refusing to play in Zimbabwe. We must put aside political differences and give space to sporting spirits in this world cup. If Tony Blair has an ego problem with the President of Zimbabwe, he should keep it personal. For God sake don't involve our cricket team into it. They are there to play cricket. Tony should remain busy in performing his duties, as Foreign Minister of United States of America.

Australia, Favourties

Well although I am a Pakistani and I will support them deep down from my heart and pray to Allah they have Success in this World Cup, but coming back to reality Australia are the hot favourites they are great in every department. There spirit, self belief, and aggression is the key to their success. Pakistan have never been United
apart from under Imran in 92. They have the ingredients of winning this World Cup, but is the consistency going to last for a long period? they need to improve their batting, they recently lost to a state in a warm up match chasing 215 after a good start. Performances like that say Pakistan are struggleing with the bouncy wickets and have a hudge task if they're to win this World Cup.

World Cup

As far as bouncy tracks are concerned, it was more difficult to play in 92 when there wasnt much cricket played at that time, so no excuse at all. Pakistani team is good and Waqar is also sincere but ....
Regarding chances of other teams, the cricket pundits are ignoring Windies, for me they are dark horse, under Carl Hooper with Brian Lara back and few young "Top class batsmen" (I mean it), they can surprise lot of people. Well who knows ??

Cricket the chirpof a cricket !

I hope General Tauqir Zia remembers the
war in Burma,"Defeat into Victory" one
battle lost, must not prevent us from committing same mistake.Pakistan has a formidable team, provided they control
their emotions and stand together.

Pakistan

Certainly my favourite is Pakistan. They have the talent . They can beat anytime on a giving day.winning and loosing is part of game. But they should fight till the last time.
may Allah be with them.

Shoaib Akhtar the fastest baller in the world

Shoaib Akhtar is just simply the best and fastest baller in the world.Nobody can beat him not even Brett Lee or Glenn McGrath.
Go on Shoaib you show them how to ball.

Jaffer Ali, United Arab Emirates - 16 February, 2003

Pakistan sounds dangerous

Though Pakistan has lost the first match against Australia, but I don't think Pakistan team is weak against Australia. In its first match the strategy was wrong and not the players. Pakistan stands high chances to beat all of the teams and will bring the cup home.

Sunny, Pakistan - 18 February, 2003

Cricket

Pakistan will win World Cup 2003 Inshallah.

Syed Haider, Pakistan - 18 February, 2003

KEEP HARDWORKING PAKISTAN

HI. IM A STUDENT OF BCS.I WANT TO CONVEY MY MESSAGE TO PAKSITAN TEAM THAT THEY MUST B UNITED. PLAY FOR PAKISTAN NOT WITH PAKISTAN.ONE THING I WANT TO SAY THAT WHY THEY WOULDN'T BRING IMRAN NAZIR WITH THEM.I THINK HE IS MUCH BETTER THAN AFRIDI. ITS A LONG SUGGESION NOW I THINK I SHOULD LEAVE .ALLAH HAIFZ.PAKISTAN.

Muahmmad Owais, Pakistan - 20 February, 2003

Strategy to win WC 2003

I think they need to create a team and play with it without making changes. It is no doubt that Saqlain should be preffered over Afridi. After Wasim, Waqar, Shoaib you need somone to ball the remaining overs and provide match winning status. Afridi is not yet a finish product.

Faisal, Canada - 21 February, 2003

we wont win

i dont think Pakistan will win. Pakistan is a mentally very weak team. Australia will win the cup.

scott ijaz, United Kingdom - 22 February, 2003

PAKISTAN WILL WIN

I PRAY PAKISTAN WINS THIS WORLD CUP. BEST OF LUCK TO OUR TEAM. THEY SHOULD WORK HARD. PEOPLE WHO R SAYING THEY'LL LOSE, THEY MUST NOT THINK OTHERWISE

Adeel Hassan, Pakistan - 22 February, 2003

World Cup 2003

I would be surprized if we make it to the semi's this time.....!

Ayesha, United Kingdom - 23 February, 2003

Pakistan is fragile

Pakistan would have 2 pack their bags sooner than later after they lost to england, shame.

Majid Khan, Pakistan - 24 February, 2003

Inzi what are u doin?

Inzimam and Yousaf , worlds best players, if they do not have the guts to face even a single ball they got no right to be in the team, We lost in 96 match against India coz of Inzi and Ijaz and now Inzi and Yousaf. Our bating's back bone is broken. Welcome Home Pakistan..

shahid, United Kingdom - 24 February, 2003

Pakistan is in a very tough situation they will have to beat india, a task they have never accomplished in world cup history to qualify for the super six

Murtuza Thaver, United Kingdom - 24 February, 2003

'Stars'

Cricket is a game of 11 players and might I emphasize on the word players, who when gel together and perform as a team, prove victorious. Enough of this star status given to these useless battign line up who time and again have disaappointed us. The backbone of our team is no better then 200 runs at their best let alone chasing a daunting task of 300 runs. I wish the selection committee would take a long hard look at their doings. There is a thing called 'hunger' for championship, it has been very evident from the very get go that the desire is not there in our team, they all think they have achieved enough in life to be the 'stars' they are.

Qazi, United Kingdom - 25 February, 2003

Cricket

Folks just remember one thing - Pakistan had won before and our Tigers will inshallah show you that India is not that they cant handle
