ScotLand Yard detectives arrive out of Civil Hospital Rawalpindi after recording the statements of the persons who were injured in Liaqat Bagh suicide attack in which former Pakistani premier Benazir Bhutto was assassinated. |

RAWALPINDI: Visiting Scotland Yard experts team continued investigation into Liaqat Bagh tragedy despite bad weather and again recorded statements of doctors appointed to provide first aid to save the life of Benazir Bhutto at Rawalpindi General Hospital.
The team was given briefing in police lines at the very outset of their visit. Head of Pakistani investigation team Additional IG, CID Punjab Abdul Majeed, DIG Investigation Mushtaq Sukhera, CPO Rawalpindi, Syed Saud Aziz, DSP Investigation Rana Shahid and other officials were also present on the occasion.
The British investigators team later visited Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP). Sources told Online the team talked to senior doctors in FIP auditorium and reviewed various reports. Team later went upto district headquarters hospital Rawalpindi and inspected the legs and other body pieces of suicide attacker which were preserved in mortuary of hospital.
The team also obtained information from the doctors. Sources disclosed the team also visited Rawalpindi General Hospital and again recorded the statements of doctors who provided first aid to Benazir Bhutto and remained engaged in life saving efforts. Sources revealed investigators team examined the parts of hospital where Benazir Bhutto was brought in injured condition after suicide attack on December, 27. The entry of general public was disallowed to hospital during the visit of team.
The team also headed towards CMH and recorded statements of an injured police officer deployed on the security of Benazir Bhutto, one police constable and personal guards of PPP chairperson.
Pakistani investigation team briefed the British experts team about the progress achieved so far during their investigation and provided some important evidence to British investigators .
Sources informed Scotland Yard team once again examined the vehicle used by Benazir Bhutto and obtained detailed information from Pakistani authorities in this connection.
