ISLAMABAD: Former president Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Munir A Malik who is in a critical condition in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) revealed that his condition deteriorated after he was given ‘juice’ to drink in the Attock jail.
Sources in PIMS revealed that it was yet not known what type of juice was served to Munir. However, the functioning of his kidneys has been seriously affected, they said.
Keeping in view his serious condition, the authorities released him on Saturday evening and the police force was removed from his ward.
Munir Malik is undergoing a series of tests and a decision regarding his dialysis will be taken later. Munir is also suffering from serious liver problems.
The sources in the PIMS told media that Munir Malik was continuously telling the doctors that he was given a juice and from then onwards his health deteriorated continuously. Munir’s belly and feet have swollen and he was lying in a serious condition without any attendant, said the sources, adding that he was brought to the PIMS in a very serious condition on Friday night where he was given some painkillers.
