17 soldiers killed in North Waziristan, 5 militants also killed

ISLAMABAD: At least thirteen person were killed and fifty others injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up as hundreds of supporter of Chief Justice gathered for a rally in the premises of Islamabad court on Tuesday night.

According to details, a motorcyclist entered the premises of the Islamabad Court and blew himself up with big bang when he reached near reception of PPP pavilion.

The court was rocked following the suicide attack. Fragments of doors and windows of the courtroom were found from the site. The windowpanes of other courtrooms and district courts buildings in the vicinity were also smashed, while limbs and body parts lay scattered around

The party workers were chanting slogans in favor of chief justice, Benazir Bhutto and anti government enthusiastically.

Despite hue and cry after the attack, relief teams reached the spot after fifteen minutes, while Police cordoned off the area and had taken the dead bodies to hospitals.

A motorcycle no RLT-3891 with heavy explosive was used for the attack and security personnel have recovered the head of suicide attacker from nearby bushes.

According to Interior Ministry, at least 13 people were killed and more than 50 injured. Three of them are reported to be in critical situation but it is premature to speculate about the incident.

Luckily the CJ was kilometers away, near Balochistan House at the time of attack.

He was requested to postpone his event, to which he consented, but nevertheless he still arrived at the spot of the grisly incident to review the carnage, whence he agreed to postpone the speech, due to sad event.

End.

What do you think about the story?

Read what others have to say

what we should be seeing is the religeous political parties condemning suicide attacks;instead we see them marching with slogans like "shame on extreme moderates".
MMA especially should be banned;if you ask any one of them you will not get a straight anwser as to is this allowed in Islam.

"And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you. But do not transgress limits. Truly Allah loves not the transgressors."
- Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah (2:190

"O ye who believe!... [do not] kill yourselves, for truly Allah has been to you Most Merciful. If any do that in rancour and injustice, soon shall We cast him into the Fire..." (Qur'an 4:29-30).

Harming innocent bystanders, even in times of war, was forbidden by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This includes women, children, noncombatant bystanders, and even trees and crops. Nothing is to be harmed unless the person or thing is actively engaged in an assault against Muslims

"The blame is only against those who oppress men with wrongdoing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice. For such there will be a chastisement grievous (in the Hereafter)" (42:42).

"O ye who believe! Remain steadfast for Allah, bearing witness to justice. Do not allow your hatred for others make you swerve to wrongdoing and turn you away from justice. Be just; that is closer to true piety."

- Qur'an, Surah al-Maidah (5:8)

I do not know if I am more grief stricken over the carnage of innocent fellow Muslims and fellow countrymen or the mentality of our leaders and our politicians. According to the AP, “One of Chaudhry's attorneys, Munir Malik, accused Pakistani intelligence agencies. ‘This was an attack on the chief justice,’ he said”. Our government has been complicit in many a wrongdoing no doubt, but to accuse it of actually arranging this suicide bombing, without providing any evidence, is indeed a heinous act unbecoming of one of the highest ranking members of the community of people who are involved in bringing justice to the people of our beloved country. What has become of our country when a leading lawyer, a lawyer leading the charge of the battle to restore the Chief Justice no less, without any fear of retribution, both in this world and the hereafter, can say that the government is behind the suicide bombing.

And what of the PPP who is expected by many to be the next leaders of our nation.
Quoting from the same AP article, “Raja Pervez Ashraf, a leader of Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party, said the attacker targeted her activists. ‘Most among the dead and injured are our supporters,’ Ashraf said.”

The extremist behind the Lal Masjid had been threatening suicide bombings for months if action was taken against the Lal Masjid. Over the last three days there have been at least three suicide bombings. Two of them have killed many military men. Several policemen were killed in this latest blast. We all know that the likely suspect are the extremist, then why the irresponsible comments. I had no faith in the PPP or politician in general but after this Munir Malik has no credibility either.

How outrageous that one Muslim can strap himself with explosives and blow himself up in a crowd of Muslims, and how outrageous that our country’s leaders can whirl public accusations of who is responsible, knowing full well that they are not sincere in their accusations. Who can cause more mayhem, the likes of this misguided and ignorant bomber or the likes of Munir Malik and Raja Pervez Ashraf?

We must all understand that lies and deceit has brought this country to the shape it’s in. May Allah Guide us all.
