QUETTA: The opposition leader of Balochistan Assembly, Gatchkol Ali has demanded a change of governor's post, due to governor's failure to deliver the goods.
Addressing a press conference in the MPA hostel here Sunday, he said that the ineptness of the governor Owas Ahmed Ghani had affected Pakhtoon-Baloch relations.
He strongly berated the newly constructed 10 feet high and four feet wide Goldsmith line barbed wire –turned- wall, which he termed as a blatant endeavor to divide the Baloch nation on either side of Pak-Iran border.
He said that this wall which has divided Pak-Iran border runs from Taftan to Jewani port, and has divided the Baloch community, politically, socially, and all their trade and social activities have come to a halt.
He was quite chagrined over the fact that Baloch masses of western and Eastern region, who are more affected by this divide, were never taken into confidence by the government.
He strongly condemned the construction of this wall and demanded to abandon the controversial project at once.
Addressing the journalists, he drew their attention towards the fact that during any impending Iran-American conflict the damage to a neutral Balochistan could not be ruled out, since it would entail use of Baloch land and coastline.
He cited the privileged motion No. 3, which was overruled in Saturday's assembly proceedings by Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani on grounds that it pertained to International conflict. |
