MAHMOOD RAQI: The Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) stationed in the Parwan province, Thursday launched four construction projects in the neighbouring Kapisa province, north of the central capital Kabul.

The projects included construction of a bridge in Tagab, compounds of police stations in Nijrab and Alasai and establishment of a veterinary hospital in the provincial capital Mahmood Raqi.

Hujjatullah Mojaddedi, spokesman for the provincial government, told Pajhwok Afghan News the four projects would be completed at the cost of 15 lakh US dollars.

The PRT will provide construction machinery and vehicles as well.

The projects were approved after local elders from Kapisa met the US military officials and urged them to start construction and developmental works in the province.

Saeed, a PRT official in the Parvan province said that the team was also running reconstruction projects in the neighbouring Panjshir besides helping the officials to boost security there.
