Zardari takes notice of expired polio vaccine

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari, taking notice of a report appearing in the media about the use of expired polio vaccine in Shakai Valley of South Waziristan Agency, on Wednesday called for a report and has directed the authorities concerned to take strict action against those responsible for such negligence. Spokesperson to the president, Senator Farhatullah Babar, said that the president directed all concerned to show zero tolerance to any incident of negligence with regards to polio vaccination campaigns that were undertaken throughout the country at regular intervals. The president also directed those concerned to ensure timely supply of vaccine to various parts of the country, especially in the far-flung areas. He also directed to maintain updated record, at provincial and district levels, of both used and unused vaccines. End.
