05 January, 2013

KARACHI: The President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday expressed his dissatisfaction over the pace of development works in Sindh and asked PPP MPAs to get the work expedited.

Talking to his party MPAs at a meeting held at Bilawal House, the President said fresh general elections were near therefore all the ongoing schemes should be completed within a period of one and a half month.

He asked the MPAs that he would personally monitor their performance during his planned visit to districts and divisional headquarters of the province. He asked MPAs that during his visits, he would meet the divisional and district office bearers of the party. He clarified thatselection from existing MPAs for upcoming elections would be made on recommendations of office bearers of their respective districts and divisions.

The MPAs complained of late release of funds for development schemes. The President asked the Sindh chief minister to ensure early provision of funds to the lawmakers. He also directed the MPAs to expedite the mass contact campaign in their respective constituencies.
