Writing Swiss letter a wise decision: Asma

19 September, 2012

LAHORE: Supreme Court Bar Association's former president Asma Jahangir on Tuesday admired Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf's decision to ask the law minister to write a letter to the Swiss government, calling it a wise decision.

Talking to the media at the Lahore High Court, Asma said that in compliance with the Supreme Court order, writing the letter would resolve the matter. She said the prime minister's direction to draft the letter and the apex court's decision to give time to the government was a step in the right direction.

She requested the superior court to let the government functionaries do their work. Asma also requested the apex court to allow the government complete its constitutional term. She said the issue of a caretaker government should be discussed near the elections and not before that.

End.
